1st Annual Children’s Health Fair and
Getting Healthy is FREE and Fun!
On Saturday, Jan. 21st from 1 – 3pm, in collaboration with several local organizations, and in an effort to provide community access to valuable health services, the Museum will be hosting an afternoon of special guests and health-related activities. Not only is admission to this event FREE to the public, but admission to the Museum will be FREE for all from noon – 5pm that day, giving visitors lots of time to explore.
Far from the ordinary blase, we’re making getting healthy fun. Lots of fun. Take mini-classes in martial arts, belly dancing, and yoga with the Martial Arts Training Center of Santa Fe, Pomegranate Studios, and Santa Fe Community Yoga Center. And when you’re done with all of that fun, come play with the Museum’s exhibits in between.
For the more resourceful visitor, we’ve got plenty of organizations ready to educate you about the many free supportive services for families in Santa Fe. New Mexico’s Department of Health WIC Program will be present to answer questions, learn about United Way’s home visits and parenting programs, and get a free BMI screening and nutrition info from La Familia and PMS Children’s Services.
For those seeking information on children’s learning and mental health resources, the May Center for Leanring, Southwest Family Guidance Center, New Vistas, and the Behavior Change Institute will be standing by to assist. Learn about support services for learning disabilities, autism and early intervention, independent living services for special needs children, and therapeutic modalities for childhood trauma.
And if that’s not a enough variety for you, Mountain Spirit Integrative Medicine will be present with Doctors of Oriental Medicine to talk about alternative medicine and practices.
