All 6 weeks feature 5 full days of FUN!
EXPLORER CAMP DATES & THEMES:
STEM education is our focus with weekly theme-based projects and games!
WEEK 1 (June 7-11): Backyard Explorers ~FULL~
Jump into summer with the Children’s Museum’s favorite backyard activities! Catch bugs, explode a chalk rocket, cook s'mores in a solar oven, play with water and build a giant bubble wand of your very own!
WEEK 2 (June 14-18): Space Explorers ~FULL~
3-2-1 Blast Off! Rockets and Rovers - Oh my! Tour outer space with our Planetary Scientist, Make your own Mars Sand and Moon Craters, launch rockets of all kinds, design a spacecraft to take home and send an eggstronaut into space!
WEEK 3 (June 21-25): Dino Explorers ~FULL~
Party like a Paleontologist and show off your jaws, claws, and Rawrrrs! Dig for ancient shark teeth, stomp and stamp dinosaur tracks, collect real fossils, blow up a volcano, and make your own dinosaur mask!
WEEK 4 (June 28- July 2): Fairy Tale Explorers
Soar into a world of fantasy as you build your own adventure! Fly with fairies, wave your wand, hatch dragon eggs, build the tallest tower in your kingdom, and battle for good with glitter.
WEEK 5 (July 5-9): Pirate Explorers ~ FULL ~
A-hoy, matey! Get on deck for a swashbuckling adventure with our crew. Catapult cotton cannonballs, craft a pirate outfit from scratch, sail penny boats, create a compass, dig for gold and bury the treasure.
WEEK 6 (July 12-16): Super Explorers ~FULL~
Discover your Superpowers! Dive into the iconic world of heroes and villains as we fashion costumes, make a movie with green screens, send messages with invisible ink, bounce around super slime and shoot lightning from our fingertips.

All parents must review a 2021 Summer Camp Operations Guide and return an enclosed Acknowledgement on the first day of camp.

Drop-off and pick-up will be staggered based on age groups. After registering, expect to receive correspondence from our Museum team regarding what group your child/ren will be in.
For families with siblings in more than one group- the family may drop off their children with the earliest camp start time and pick up with the latest pick-up time.
Drop Off: 8:30 am – 8:45 am
Pick-Up: 2:30 pm – 2:45 pm
Drop Off: 8:45 am– 9 am
Pick-Up: 2:45 pm– 3 pm
Drop Off: 9 am – 9:15 am
Pick-Up: 3 pm – 3:15 pm
$295 per child ($100 non-refundable deposit)
All registrations canceled two weeks or more prior to the week of the camp start date will receive a refund minus the $100 deposit. Cancellations one week before the camp start date will only be refunded, minus the $100 deposit, if the camper's spot is able to be filled from the waitlist.
The same cancellation policy is in effect for campers on a full or partial scholarship, however, the non-refundable deposit is reduced.

All applications submitted by May 14th at 5 pm will be reviewed and considered. All applicants will be notified of their award status on May 18th.
If you are granted an award, you will have until May 20th at midnight to accept the award and complete the necessary registration.

Limited spots are available for Summer Camp.
The Santa Fe Children's Museum has reorganized the way in which camp will be administered following All Together New Mexico's COVID-Safe Practices for Day Youth Camps and Programs and to ensure the health and safety of all campers and staff.
- 10 children: 1 adult ratio
- Three groups per week of camp (30 children total)
- Children will be in the same group and with the same staff member and intern each day
- Each group will be in their own classrooms practicing physical distancing of six feet apart and not intermingle with the other groups
(unless from the same household)
- All children are required to bring and wear their own face covering
Materials & Personal Property
- Each child/household will have their own personal “treasure kit” which will contain all of the supplies for the week’s activities
- Supplies will not be shared and personal lunches will stay apart from others
- Personal water bottles are allowed - tap water will be available for refills
- No use of microwave will be permitted
- Please label all personal items, jackets, hats, lunch boxes, etc.
