Stargazer Portable Planetarium

The Museum staff in front of stargazer

What is Stargazer?

Stargazer is Santa Fe Children’s Museum’s high definition, portable planetarium.

Visitors enter the pop-up dome of the planetarium, and through the magic of Stargazer, travel to distant galaxies. Each planetarium show offers bilingual programming featuring cultural tales, star talks, and interplanetary travel.

Our current shows:

  • Stars and Constellations
  • Our Amazing Solar System!

On Saturdays and Sundays, Stargazer docks in the Museum. Ask at the front desk to reserve your spot for one of our shows.

During the week, our bilingual (English and Spanish) educator takes the galaxy into your classroom, camp, or home to ignite interest in the sciences, astronomy, and beyond.

Admission to shows on Saturdays and Sundays is FREE with Museum admission.

Due to a generous grant, field trips to public schools in Northern New Mexico are FREE!

Stargazer can be added to a birthday party or field trip in the museum for $195.

Stargazer travels to your site: home, camp, corporate event, classroom (must be indoors)

  • 7 hours and up to 5 shows for $995
  • 4 hours and up to 3 shows for $595

To book your adventure in Stargazer, contact our Planetarium Manager at or (505) 989-8359 x 108.
