Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea)
Purple Coneflower is a popular snack station for bees and butterflies in Santa Fe! Even though it originally came from other parts of North America, it loves growing in New Mexico gardens. These tough flowers have a flat center that makes a perfect landing pad for big, thirsty insects. They are especially helpful during the rainy summer months of July and August, when bees and butterflies are buzzing and fluttering from flower to flower!
