Help us Celebrate 4 Decades of Imagination, Discovery, and Community!

This year, we’re celebrating 40 years of bringing children and families together through the transformative “power of play.” Since 1985, our Children’s Museum has opened its doors—and its heart—to generations of Santa Fe families. We’ve welcomed babies taking their first steps, school-aged kids building their first rockets, and parents returning as grandparents
with the next generation in tow.

Together, we’ve created more than a children’s museum. We’ve built a beloved community hub where curiosity thrives, friendships form, and learning happens through play. Today, that mission is more important than ever.
As we look toward the next 40 years—now, more than ever—we need your help to make sure every child in Santa Fe has the same opportunity to learn, grow, and play in a safe, welcoming space. Together, we can ensure that the next 40 years are even more transformative than the first. Help us celebrate 40 years by investing in the next 40. Your gift today ensures that our museum remains a place of wonder and belonging for all children for many years to come.
YOUR YEAR-END GIFT WILL:

YOUR SUPPORT HELPS US FULFILL OUR MISSION
The Santa Fe Children’s Museum (SFCM) is based on a simple idea: children learn by doing. The Museum fosters connections among children and families through interactive exhibits and programs. Founded in 1985, SFCM reflects our diverse community through playful bilingual learning experiences. The Museum engages visitors of all ages by presenting creative and meaningful education with interactive hands-on exhibits and programs.
OUTDOOR EQUITY
Grow with us as we embark on an exciting and transformative master plan renovation of our outdoor space, The Backyard. This master plan developed with the National Wildlife Federation and ECHO (Early Childhood Health Outdoors) along with local firm Surroundings Studio, redesigns our space to reflect ADA upgrades and a nature-based health equity strategy, to serve all our children and families for many years to come.
EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT & LEARNING
We help children from birth through age five develop a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime. Our Wee Wednesday program, hands-on activities, and early childhood exhibits provide places where all families are welcome and learn together.
STEAM EDUCATION
Stargazer, our portable planetarium, is a pop-up COVID-safe dome that can be set up nearly anywhere to ignite interest in the sciences, astronomy, and beyond. Due to a generous grant, Stargazer trips to public and Title 1schools in Northern New Mexico are FREE!
OUTREACH
Programs such as Grab & Go Kits, hands-on learning at home, and our upcoming mobile Museum, provide critical learning and fill the education gap for thousands of New Mexico children and families residing in rural and tribal areas.
COMMUNITY GARDEN & FOOD ASSISTANCE
For 40 years our sustainable Community Garden has invited children and families to explore hands-on gardening and conservation. To address food insecurity, with volunteers & community organizations 1,000 lbs. of fresh produce is distributed each year from our garden to families in need. On July 31st the Life Center Foundation Discovery Garden will be opened to the public!
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
Our seasonal camps offer fun and learning for campers ages 5–8. STEAM education is our focus with weekly theme-based projects and activities! Through camp scholarships, we have been able to provide children the opportunity to attend these unique week-long adventures every season.
