Fine Art Friday

January 26 @ 2:00 pm 4:00 pm

A weekly exploration into the arts with special guests and hands-on activities!

Make “paper monsters” (the nice kind) with Guest Artist Blaine Siegel!
Guests will create and play using the classic surrealist game, cadavre exquis (the Exquisite Corpse). It is a game I play in my education practice with artists from age 3-100.  All we need is paper, something to draw with, and imagination.  We will take the game a step further and create names and backstories for our created monsters.

Blaine is a multidisciplinary sculptor with a social engagement practice.  He was the Education and Outreach Director for Conflict Kitchen from 2014-2017 and currently works in the Education and Public Programs Department at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh as the Public Programs Manager.  Blaine has been an artist in residence in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh public schools throughout his art career and has created art workshops for every grade from 1st grade to high school.

**Fine Art Friday Programming is included in Museum Admission**
