A weekly exploration into the arts with special guests and hands-on activities!
Presented in the Woods Family Outdoor Classroom
Georgia O’Keeffe began making large-scale paintings of natural forms, sometimes flowers, at
close range, as if seen through a magnifying lens. Depictions of small flowers that fill the canvas
suggest the immensity of nature and encourage viewers to looks at flowers differently. O’Keeffe
would paint her flowers so large because she wanted viewers to, “Take time to look.”
All Fine Art Friday guests will be able to get creative and make their own O’Keefe Flower!
