Join NMSA’s Lucia for a special Fine Art Friday dance class!ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR:
Santa Fe based mover, Lucia Rosen, has been training in various dance styles for over a decade. She started exploring ballet technique at Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and then migrated to National Dance Institute where she found a love for jazz and commercial styles. She now attends New Mexico School for the Arts as a dance major in her senior year. Over the past couple of years, she has been honing the technique and style of hip hop outside of her usual technique classes. Lucia practices the complexity of dynamics in contrast to musicality and lyrics. Her style is inspired by her peers and young creators in the commercial dance industry. Lucia’s purpose in creating movement is to challenge people to see things through a different perspective while also bringing them a sense of peace and unity. She works with the juxtaposition of ideas and the hypocrisy that our society embodies daily. She focuses more on the individual impact on society rather than a whole community. She has dabbled in many concepts through her medium. Lucia enjoys collaborating with other artists and finds empowerment in experimenting with new ways of dancing.In partnership with:
