Holi Celebration & Special Songbirds Concert

March 12, 2023 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm

Join us for a special concert with The Songbirds in honor of Holi, the Festival of Colors (and Spring)!

Enjoy this 30-minute multi-lingual concert on the theme of Spring and Color by the Songbird Choir, a quartet of singers aged 7-11, directed by music director Priyanka Kumar, author of Conversations with Birds, and an amazing opportunity to play Holi, a Festival of Colors outside in the Museum’s Backyard!

**Non-toxic, chemical-free, natural colored powders will be provided. Please wear old clothes/t-shirts as all attendees will get beautiful colors on them!**

The Songbirds is a quartet choir, singing together since 2019. They sing in Sanskrit and Hindi, while also weaving in some French, Congolese, and Zulu

Music director Priyanka Kumar is the acclaimed author of Conversations with Birds; she began her vocal training at the age of seven and went on to study with Ali Akbar Khan at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Kumar was a soloist for the Southwest Premiere of The Drop that Contained the Sea composed by Grammy Award winner, Christopher Tin.
