The Santa Fe Children’s Museum offers many opportunities for children to continue their learning when school is out! Campers are enchanted by our weekly themes and educated through art, science, and play each day!
Choose from seven weeks of jam-packed thematic STEAM Fun! Each week features new and engaging hands-on educational activities to explore. Led by our experienced museum educators, every week includes; daily private playtimes (inside and out), community guests, games, science experiments, cooking, art projects, and more!
Week 1 (June 10th-14th) – Earth Explorers
Blast to the past and dig in deep to learn about the layers of our planet’s history, from landforms to ancient life. Make crackers quake, volcanoes shake and dinosaurs wake as we investigate Earth before humans. Create ancient creatures, find fossils, and meet a real-life archaeologist on this geological journey through time.
Week 2 (June 17th-June 21st) – Ocean Explorers
Leave land behind and discover the depths of the ocean. Paint wild waves, craft aquatic creatures, build boats to survive a tsunami, and build your own bubble machine! Strengthen your stewardship of the sea as we snack on seaweed, contemplate currents, ponder pollution, and uncover layers of underwater life.
Week 3 (June 24th-June 28th) – Space Explorers
Launch into learning with an out-of-this-world adventure to space! Cook s’mores with the Sun, engineer rockets that fly, and travel all around the universe in the Stargazer Planetarium. We’ll eat the moon, play gravity games, and make planet bath bombs during this week-long celestial celebration.
Week 4 (July 8th-12th) – Rainforest Explorers–Theater Camp Week
Discover your inner critter while exploring the wild world of theater! Craft creature costumes, make a life-size forest mural, and learn about the wondrous realms of the rainforest. Put on a final performance on a real stage at the NM Military Museum! Special guest, children’s theater coach, Abby Cole, joins us for this week of dramatic tales and tails.
Week 5 (July 15th-19th) – Enchanted Explorers
Expand your imagination as we travel to the world of fairies and dragons. Breathe like a dragon, fashion wings that work, and craft houses for forest friends. Follow fantasy maps to forage tea, and plant wildflowers with Seed Ball Launchers. Special guest, NM Fairy Hair comes to sparkle camp.
Week 6 (July 22nd-26th) – Superhero Explorers– Adventure into the world of superheroes! Create comics, make action happen, and help save the world. Construct a course to race a getaway vehicle, shoot objects from the palms of your hands, and adapt powers from animal origins to be the hero of your own super story.
Week 7 (July 29th – Aug. 2nd)- Lego Explorers– Let’s go Legos! Unleash your inner engineer as we learn with Legos. Make machines that move, design your dream house, and get technical with gearbots. Print Lego portraits, manufacture a minifig, and become a Lego Master, brick by brick.
Monday through Friday, 9 am – 3 pm
Drop-off starts at 8:45 am & pick-up is until 3:15 pm
AFTERCARE: $15 per day/per camper
Available daily from 3:15 pm – 5:30 pm. All registered parents will receive a registration link to purchase their After Care Session(s).
*All sessions must be pre-paid prior to camp. There will be no day-of or in-person transactions available.*

Santa Fe Children’s Museum is CDC-compliant and since March 2020 has made changes to keep you, your family, and our staff safe and healthy. Some of the new operations include; encouraging staff/youth mentors/volunteers to be vaccinated, being outdoors as much as possible, adjustments to exhibit availability, upgrades to our HVAC system, and a purchase of new hospital-grade air purification system.
As of February 17, 2022, New Mexico does not require face masks in all indoor spaces. This policy applies to our guests, staff, and volunteers. However, everyone may continue to wear a mask to protect themselves and others from getting COVID-19. If you feel more comfortable with your child wearing a mask, that is ok! Masks must be provided from home.
We will continue to monitor and modify all recommendations to ensure that all visitors have a comfortable experience at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum. At the heart of all the policies of SFCM is abiding by the mission to keep all of your campers and staff are equitably healthy and safe.
