SCHEDULE & PERFORMERS
MAY 8th ~ Lone Piñon

Lone Piñon is a New Mexican string band, or “orquesta típica”, whose music celebrates the integrity and diversity of their region’s cultural roots. With fiddles, guitars, accordions, vihuela, and bilingual vocals, they play a wide spectrum of the traditional music that is at home in New Mexico.
JUNE 12th ~ Todd & the Fox

Todd and the Fox is equal parts rollicking, rolling, playful animal spirit and tooth and claw hammer mountain-minor backwoods predator. Employing electric banjo, lap steel, guitar, bass and drums, T&tF performs family-friendly songs about rattlesnakes, coyotes, a good night’s sleep, the joys of blundering fatherhood, mindfulness, and funky worms.
The band, the brainchild of Todd Eric Lovato, has exported its unique brand of New Mexican electronic folk music throughout the Southwest and as far as South Korea, and has recently released a compilation EP of kids songs.
Todd and the Fox is made up of multi-instrumentalists/songwriters Todd Eric Lovato, Erik Sawyer, and Brian Nelson.
JULY 12th ~ Jules!

Jules! is a singer songwriter who has worked in many musical genres – indie rock, pop and country among them. They co-wrote the theme song for Songs for Littles and the feature film Rock Dog and was a Great American Songwriter finalist for “Hey There Anne’’. Their passion for songwriting extends to teaching, taking them all over the world at times to teach the craft. When they’re not making music, they are usually cooking for friends, hiking with their dogs or learning a new visual art form.
AUGUST 14th ~ Wild Marimbas

Wild Marimbas is a local band of Santa Fe, New Mexico that has been around for 20+ years. Our music is inspired by the culture and sound of Zimbabwe spanning several generations. With that, we mix in our own style as well. Our music is unique to us, yet holds a sense of familiarity.
SEPTEMBER 11th ~ Jordan Wax

Jordan Wax is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, and traditional musician based in New Mexico. For the past twenty five years he has studied intergenerational music traditions with elders from a variety of cultural lineages in the Missouri Ozarks, Central Mexico, Ecuador, Northern New Mexico, and Greater Yiddishland, and directed his own collaborative ensembles in the context of Ashkenazi, Ozark, and Indo-Hispanic cultural revitalizations. He performs traditional Yiddish songs and new compositions as a soloist, norteño and Central-Mexican traditions with Mariachi Sonidos del Monte and his own ensemble, Lone Piñon, and creates bilingual children’s programming that helps families and infants establish a positive context around linguistic diversity and regionalism in partnership with the Santa Fe Public Libraries.
His debut album of original songs in Yiddish, “The Heart Deciphers,” was released in January by Borscht Beat (Brooklyn), and his first album of music for children and families “Pantakozak and Other New Yiddish Songs for Kids” will be released this year. (Photo by Annie Quick)
